PRODUCTION NOTES
Lotus Flower is loosely based on the true story of the first-ever domino transplant carried out by Prof. Giovanni Ambrosino, world-famous liver transplant surgeon active in the world of cinema with multi-award-winning short films.

The director’s debut movie is set in the mid-’90s, and 90% of it will be shot in Veneto and Puglia, Italy. The primarily Italian setting is strategic in several ways: as well as reinforcing the dramaturgical aspect, it contributes to building a strong local-global (glocal) identity, as the movie will be rooted in the country of not only the narrative events, but also its writer.
Ambrosini MediaGroup has already obtained permission to film inside the Padua Hospital. Moreover, the film is gaining support from local entrepreneurs through sponsorship deals.
The choice to entrust Giovanni Ambrosino with directing is fundamental.
In the ‘90s, he himself carried out the world’s first ever domino transplant and this constitutes a strength from both dramaturgical and distributive perspectives, greatly facilitating future strategies in the marketing and launching of the movie.

Furthermore, Ambrosino already has experience as a director and his technical/stylistic vision, together with his surgical experience, brings artistic sensitivity and sales potential to the movie.
